First, a Word About Anaesthesia…

We often hear concerns from pet owners who have been told their pet is “too old” or “too sick” for anaesthesia. While that may have once been true, things have changed—dramatically.

Modern veterinary anaesthetic protocols are now almost unrecognisable from those used in the past. By adopting and adapting techniques from human medicine, we’ve greatly improved outcomes—even in senior and high-risk patients.

Surgery

Thanks to the recent renovation of our treatment area, we now offer a full range of sterile and non-sterile surgical procedures in-house. Our new sterile operating theatre meets gold standard guidelines, making it ideal for both abdominal surgeries and orthopaedic procedures.

Desexing

We strongly recommend desexing between 5–12 months, depending on your pet’s species and breed. Desexing can help:

  • Prevent unwanted litters
  • Reduce behavioural issues
  • Lower the risk of some aggressive cancers later in life

While we may not offer the cheapest desexing prices—due to our high standard of care—you can be confident your pet will receive:

  • A stable, well-managed anaesthetic
  • Comprehensive monitoring
  • Optimal pain relief and aftercare

We treat every desexing patient with the same attention and care we would want for our own pets.

Orthopaedics

Some orthopaedic conditions can be managed medically to an acceptable level, particularly in less active patients or early-stage cases. However, in many instances, surgical intervention provides the best long-term outcome in terms of mobility, comfort, and quality of life.

We believe in a collaborative approach to care, and for every case, we will discuss and present a range of options—from referral to specialist orthopaedic surgeons, to treatment by general practice veterinarians with a special interest and extensive experience in orthopaedic procedures.

Thanks to the recent renovation of our treatment area and the addition of a gold-standard sterile operating theatre, we are now proud to offer in-house orthopaedic surgeries. These are performed by an experienced general practice-level surgeon, allowing us to provide advanced surgical care in a familiar and trusted environment.

Our goal is to ensure you’re fully informed and comfortable with the treatment path that best suits your pet’s needs and your preferences.
